Landmarks in Paphos that You Have to Visit

Whether you’re planning on renting for a short period of time, or buying a house in Paphos to enjoy the rest of your life – here at DemPro Real Estate in Paphos - Cyprus, we understand just how appealing this beautiful region can be. If you enjoy nothing more than exploring all that a location has to offer, we have an incredible variety of things to see and do.

Here are just a small selection of our favourites – many of which are frequented by British expats. Most are close to villages and towns, meaning that choosing a spot for relocation based on the sights may be easier than you might think.

The Tomb of the Kings

If you can’t get enough of history, this landmark is definitely one worth visiting. As its name might suggest, it is an ancient location filled with tombs that were said to have belonged to ancient Kings. It’s situated neatly not too far from the coast, so you can expect a pleasant breeze – but be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, as you’ll be out in the open for much of the adventure (unless you’re traversing the ancient tombs and ruins themselves).

Kato Paphos

Kato literally translates to ‘lower’, and in Lower Paphos you’ll find some of the most historic sites imaginable. It’s a huge area complete with Roman mosaics that have remained for centuries, as well as ancient columns and sizable ruins to appeal to the history-hunter in all of us.

Petra tou Romiou - (Romios Rock)

Petra tou Romiou, or Romeo’s Rock as it’s known in English, is a legendary landmark just to the side of a beautiful beach. The story surrounding the rock is as iconic as it is captivating, so we won’t tell you about it here – but what we will say is that some pretty compelling figures in Greek mythology were said to have visited this spot.

Coral Bay - Beach

If you love the idea of clear ocean waters, tranquil waves and stunning scenery; Coral Bay might well be worth a visit. It’s an ancient bay that was used by boats for trading and docking, but these days it’s an appealing site for tourists and locals alike. Many species of fish can be found here, as well as exotic underwater plant life and much, much more in between.

And there you have it – a nice selection of things to see and do in Paphos during your next visit. If you’re planning on buying a home in Cyprus, be sure to get in touch with us as we specialise in assisting ex-pats and those looking to relocate before, during and after Brexit.
